Meet the Teacher: Mrs. Racheal Primm

Hi! My name is Mrs. Primm and I'm the Kindergarten teacher at St. Vincent de Paul School. This is my second time teaching Kindergarten and I have 10 years of teaching experience. I have also taught 3rd, 1st and 2nd grades.

This is my 1st year at St. Vincent and I am excited to start exploring, learning, and having fun! I have a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and I love working with numbers and finding different ways to solve problems. I also love to discover how things happen in Science.

I just moved to Mount Vernon with my family in July of 2021 from San Antonio, Texas where I lived for the last 18 years teaching, meeting my husband, mothering, homeschooling and substituting. I have been substituting here for the last year. I grew up in Holland, Michigan and now being closer to home I love to be able to visit and see all my family more frequently. My parents and 2 of my brothers still live in Michigan, but my oldest brother lives in Georgia with his family.

My husband teaches JROTC at Knox County Career Center and I have 2 sons and 2 daughters at home and a bonus daughter and grandson in Springfield,OH. This summer, I had lots of fun spending time with my husband, and all my kids and grandson. We have enjoyed exploring Mount Vernon, all around Ohio, and just visiting with family.

When you're not working, what do you do?

When not at work I like to have family time and watch movies with my kids, also Hallmark movies by myself. I like doing most things outside like biking, hiking, and enjoying nature.

What or who can't you live without?

I can live without coffee, yuck! I cannot live without Mountain Dew at least once a week.

If you won the lottery, what would you do first?

If I won the lottery, I would pay off my house and help other people in my family out.

Best book you've ever read?

The best book I read was Little House in the Big Woods and when I have the patience and time I will sit down and read the next book Farmer Boy.

If you could go back in time, where would you go?

If I could go back in time I would go back to when my mom was a little girl and see what she and life was like.

Mrs. Primm iwith her husband and four children.

We would like to thank Mrs. Primm for participating in our Meet the Teacher feature!
